We are honored to have Professor Jessica Tsui Yan Li, Associate Professor of the Department of Languages, Linguistics, and Literatures at York University, to examine how Eileen Chang’s life in Hong Kong inspired her unique storytelling style. Professor Li will also explore how Chang’s work mixes Chinese and Western cultures, highlighting themes of cultural differences, harmony and strong female characters.
